It’s the start of a new year and many have anticipated its coming because of new video game releases. The past year has released more than enough games to keep most gamers busy but regardless of backlogs, 2019 is filled with exciting new game releases. Video games are getting more and more popular thanks to the rise of esports and popular consoles like the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and even mobile games.

The PC is still here and thriving and remains to be one of the most preferred platform for gamers. If you’re a PC gamer and looking for a time to upgrade, now’s a good time as any as gaming computer components are getting cheaper and faster. Without further ado, here are some of the most anticipated games in 2019:

Resident Evil 2 for PS4, Xbox One, PC

This is Capcom’s most well-known survival horror franchise in the industry. This is a remake of the sequel so players who played the original will once again join as Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield and survive in Raccoon City amidst a zombie apocalypse. Resident Evil 2 will be released on January 25.

Kingdom Hearts III for PS4, Xbox One

The third title in the franchise has been anticipated for a long time ever since Kingdom Hearts II was released more than a decade ago. Square Enix’s franchise has one of the most complex stories and fans have been waiting with baited breath for Sora’s story. This action role-playing game is set to be released on January 25.

Anthem for PS4, Xbox One, PC

BioWare’s Anthem is reputed to have a similar game structure to The Division which is a social action role-playing game. The developers have expressly said that it is not Mass Effect following the disappointed reviews from their other title Mass Effect Andromeda. Anthem will be released on February 22.

Devil May Cry 5 for PS4, Xbox One, PC

It’s been a decade since Capcom released Devil May Cry 4 and fans of the franchise are hotly anticipating the new title. A newcomer by the name of V, joins Nero and Dante as they fight demonic entities in an action-adventure hack and slash style. Devil May Cry 5 will be here on March 8.

    Days Gone for PS4

Yet another undead apocalypse story, Days Gone is not very subtle when it comes to showing and telling the viewers that there will be zombies in the game. Guns and explosives will help you as you battle the quick-moving swarms of undead and even other humans as well. Days Gone is set to be released on April 26.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses for Nintendo Switch

Nintendo’s most popular tactical role-playing franchise is releasing a new title. There is no final release date for Three Houses yet but it will be released this year. From the trailers, there are four confirmed playable characters.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 for Nintendo Switch

Not much information has been released about the upcoming title but it trailers revealed that the play style will be similar to the title before it. Luigi’s Mansion 3 will feature a spooky setting complete with different ghosts. It is not yet known when this game will be released but it is anticipated for sometime this year.

    Hotly Anticipated New Games

There are many more anticipated games for 2019 that aren’t mentioned above. Some of them have release dates already and others don’t due to delays and other circumstances. Depending on what platform you play, you may find rooting for some games more than others.

What games are you excited to play for in 2019? Share your thoughts below.
