If you own an Android device, no matter if it is a smartphone or tablet, you probably already know that software updates are really important. The new software version can improve the entire experience when using your device, because it may bring many new and exciting features, but that’s not all. It will also bring the improvements in performance and stability. Also, the update may fix some bugs and glitches you might have had. In this guide, we will show you how to update software on Android .

How to update software on Android

If you have an older smartphone model, and you know that the new version is out, it does not necessarily mean that the new version will be available for your smartphone or tablet. In case you don’t know which version of Android you have on your device, go to Settings, scroll down, tap on About phone (or About tablet, About device), and you will see the Android version there.Related image

What is TouchWiz  is the touch interface created and developed by Samsung Electronics with partners, featuring a full touch user interface. TouchWiz is available only on Samsung phones. It is sometimes incorrectly identified as an operating system

It is advisable to backup your data before you proceed, and also, make sure to charge your device. Connect to a Wi-Fi network (this is much better option than the mobile data because you will avoid any additional charges). Tip : Use wireless mac keywords to increase productivity at work

To update the software, do the following:

    • Navigate to Settings
    • Scroll down and tap on “About phone” or “About tablet” or “About device”
    • Next, click on “System update” or “Software update“ – this depends on the device, and it is usually located at the top of the screen
    • If there is a new software version available, you will be asked if you want to Install it, tap Yes (on some devices Install or Install now)
    • The new version will download, it will be installed and your device will reboot.

It is a simple thing to do, but the most important thing is that you will get the most out of your Android device!

    Map Zoom

Ever need to use Google Maps one-handed? (No, not while you’re driving!)

Just double tap the screen and swipe up and down to zoom in and out — it’s a lot less fiddly than trying to pinch your fingers and hold your phone at the same time!

    Screen Pinning

If you have kids using your phone regularly, this is a great way to make sure they don’t accidentally run up huge bills or set their eyes on content that is age-inappropriate.

Firstly, you’ll need to enable the feature (oddly, it is turned off by default). Do that by going to Settings > Security and scrolling down to Screen pinning.

To pin a screen, open the app, press the Overview button (the square) and then the pin icon.

You can choose to PIN-protect the pinned screen, if you so wish.

    Manage default apps

Many actions on Android will ask you to set a default app, but what if you decide you don’t like that default anymore? Some phones have a dedicated default app settings menu (e.g. Samsung), but the surest way to clear out those defaults is to find the app in the app menu under the main system settings. When you look at the info page for an app, there will be a button toward the bottom to view and clear the defaults. That will let you select a new default the next time you perform an action.
