Virtual reality has drawn a lot of attention over the past couple of years. While some believe it is just a trend, the truth is that Virtual Reality (VR) is here to stay. VR is being widely adapted in a lot of fields and to provide various kinds of experiences to people. From gaming to tourism and activities such as diving in the reefs, one could do these activities sitting right at home. In fact, VR is being adapted into several different businesses too, such as real estate and even sports.

There are several new startups that have entered the VR including some of the most popular electronics’ manufacturers. Sony, known for its PlayStation, has incorporated its VR headset called the Sony PlayStation VR with its PlayStation for a better gaming experience. There are several other manufacturers such as Google, which focuses on providing experiences via its VR headset called Google Daydream View, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR, and even some by new startups such as Oculus Rift.
Can Virtual Reality become an actual reality?
Virtual reality was a trend once upon a time, just like social media was when it got popular but soon became a part of everyone’s daily life. Maybe not in the form it currently is in, but it is believed that virtual reality will take the same road and become a daily routine for most people. The evolution of Virtual reality can be a means for better communication and digital media will have another platform to display its media on. From newspapers, Televisions, computers to entire experiences of amusement parks to helping architects see their creation even before they’ve built them; vr can be used for both entertainment and work purposes.
What is in store for VR in the future?
While Virtual reality experiences are good, there is still a long way to go before Virtual Reality becomes widely accepted. There are several problems to be solved before VR gains popularity such as unconvincing experiences, lack of realism and good quality VR experiences, low-resolution content, limited field of view, expensive to produce and to buy. VR is the way of the future but as of today, it might not be for everyone.
